Pretty good
Works well and seems to catch most of the omissions on my part. I would like to see an option to return to the review after having fixed errors - it seems to continue through that section where the error was until the end, and it can get long. After having started the current years return, an option to open it without browsing to the file would be nice, like the import list. All in all it works well and we use it every year.

Take Your Time
I tried last year & failed miserably. Perhaps I had the wrong version as it did not handle income splitting.
I tried again this year, but to be honest I did handwritten versions first. These were invaluable as I worked my way through the various pages. I found you must take your time and be very careful with your input as computerized forms are unforgiving. I found I was missing entries which meant going back several times. I also mis interpreted some questions.
The one I found confusing was "tax paid by installments" I figured this was where I had to input my total tax deducted.
The good news was that this system optimized my tax forms and came up with a bigger refund than I had calculated.

Excellent Buy
I found, as I have for more than a decade, that TurboTax (formerly QuickTax) is very easy to use, but for one thing. At the end of the processs the user should be told how to inform his bank what to expect.

Turbo tax need to "dummy" down the terms used under the help tab. Tell us in simple terms what we need to be looking for.

For a product you purchase there is an awful lot of imbedded advertising. How many services can you pitch in one program? Has the feel of a "free" app trying to make money.

Errors in Review process
TurboTax is generally a good product, but this year it led me astray in an irritating and time-consuming way. After completing my return, modest refunds of $20 for my wife and about $300 for me were computed. During the Review process, a few changes in my claims were suggested so that I could carry over some deductions to future years. In the case of medical expenses, I needed to remove the claims to see how much I could carry over. After following all the instructions carefully, I looked at the new totals and I now OWED $300! Some tax-saving suggestions those were! Now I had to go back, find the forms, and re-enter the expense claims before the refund reverted to the original numbers. Not impressed.

IMPROVEMENTS
THE DONATION OPTIMIZER SHOULD BE AVAIABLE IN THE REVIEW. I NEVER DID FIND IT AT THE END OF DEDUCTIONS.
ALSO WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SWITCH ITEMS FROM ONE SPOUSE TO THE OTHER MORE EASILY TO SEE WHICH WAY IS MORE BENEFICIAL - SUCH AS INTEREST, DIVIDENDS, CAPITAL GAINS AND DONATIONS. I UNDERSTAND UFILES DOES THIS EASILY?
LASTLY YOU SHOULD HAVE A % AVAILABLE FOR CAPITAL GAINS TO BE SPLIT WITH A SPOUSE.

Could Improve
Next year, I will be looking for a Mac version of the Turbo Tx Standard (8 returns). I like to purchase the disc format. If I can't find a Mac version in Turbo Tx, I'll be looking to another supplier.
Would be helpful to have a repeat button when entering the same name for medical expenses.

How to remove item you mistakenly click
I mistakenly click item that does not apply to me,
and it always showing every time I review my tax profile. Don't know how to removed it and the turbo tax does not have user friendly advised how to removed the mistake I made.

Very easy to use!!
The 'Help' panel takes up too much room on the screen. This creates excess horizontal movement. Also, there is too much advertizing. After I tell you once that I am not interested in the extra features, it still pops up. Other than these two minor points, I think Turbo Tax is great for the normal simple returns!

Improves every year.
Every year you can see little improvements to the program. This year I really liked the ease with which you could netfile the returns. Also, the 'tips' and 'help' information is getting better by providing more useful data and examples.

So easy to Use
So easy to do tax returns, especially for low income people. Also the tips and suggestions are very helpful to make sure you didn't miss anything or need to correct an error.
I did find the Donation Optimizer didn't work the best, as when I manually transferred donations between my husband and I, we got a higher total refund then what the program suggested.
