Disability amount
Turbo Tax changed from 2012 to 2013, in that for those who have previously filed a T2201 Disability Tax Credit Certificate, the disability amount for self did not automatically appear as a deduction on Sch 1. Rather one had to bring up another sheet and answer more questions about the ongoing nature of the disability before this deduction appeared. This is annoying, and could easily be missed. The certificate is for total permanent disability, so why ask redundant questions each year.

Great year over Year
The transfer of data from year to year makes this an easy program to use. Also, the Easy Prep interview basically gives you all you need to know to input data correctly. Take care to answer all questions in the interview to make completion very simple.

Tax Program
I have used the Turbo Tax program for several years using the forms method. It is easy to use, as straight forward as any program meeting government tax law can be, offers tremendous help and usually ends up saving me money. What more can I ask of a Tax software package?

Overall good program
Easy to use.
Saves time as compared to doing all the calculations by hand. Also helpful when trying to decide if one should use a deduction or carry it forward as able to try both to see the bottom line without doing lengthy calculations.
Suggestions: I would like to be able to print the detailed summary pages that appear as I work through the program. Also am never quite certain, when I go back and change my answer to a question, if the rest of the information I have already input will be saved or lost as I did not see any means of saving data until I reached the end. So I would often have to check. And it always seemed to be there. This may be a good thing to explain at the start of the program so that the new user doesn't have to wonder and keep checking the data that was already input.
Lastly, when the user is done his or her taxes, the user is asked to do a survey. It may be helpful to also include a comments section in the survey so that the user can make comments.

Too much advertising !!! if you're going to advertise make it a free application.
If you are not eligilble for credits, explain that on the screen. example, fitness, arts credits. Had to read fine print to understand why I didnt receive them. would have been nice to have message appear that reads the child was too old, or whatever.

TurboTax
I have used Quick Tax then Turbo Tax for the last 6 years. I was disappointed that I had to use IE8 to run the program. I found the program ran very well and had no problems with it. Great buy for the value. I did my parents taxes, they expected to pay, but with the Turbo Tax automatic pension income splitting tool, they ended up with a great refund !!

Great product
My ONLY complaint is that it advertises to you OVER and OVER again between clicks. I HAVE A WILL, THANK YOU!!! If this were a freemium product, I'd forgive them in a heartbeat but this product was paid for.

final page
The only complaint I have is that it took me another page that made me think I hadn't filed. I don't understand why I was asked if wanted to Print and file manually or leave filing .... when I'd been told I had successfully filed. This made me doubt that I'd actually filed at all.

Ease of use
I find that the program is less and less user-friendly as years go by. For example, I am doing the return of a couple and even if I have the second taxpayer selected and working on that particular return, if I go to review the return, it goes automatically to the first one and if you don't notice right away, you waste a lot of time. The e-filing option has changed and last year's method was a lot easier. Also if you want to go & check a form while in the review process, you have to start all over again, very time consuming. Like most businesses, you always think you have to improve on things. My philosophy is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" !!!

The only things I did not like was it was hard to find out where to put my tool deductions it was hiden. The other thing was that the phone help window on the right side of the screen would not close and you had to keep shifting the screen to see all the page that you wanted to see. very anoying!!! This years fileing was easier than last years.

Real Time Saver
I would like to be able to move between tax returns easier. Also, I would like to be able to print off the summary page and year over year analysis. Otherwise a great piece of software and a real time saver.

Simple Tax Return
For those who have 'Simple Tax Returns', this is definitely the easiest way to complete your taxes. For years I was frustrated shuffling through guide books and tax schedules but TurboTax does all that for you, all you do is answer simple questions and fill in required values!

Remove all the upsells.
Program worked perfectly, however, as many as 3 to 4 annoying upsell windows would appear randomly throughout the program.
Turbo Tax needs to stay focused on Tax Returns and Keep it Simple.

still very easy
the process of doing taxes is not so nerve racking, TurboTax makes it easy, the only complaint would be the many commercials they've put into the program. It would be nice to have a button to turn them off and allow me to decide if and when I'd like to call your experts; otherwise the program is great...........

Pretty much recommended
I have used TurboTax for several years now, and generally find it intuitive and easy to use. The software does what it is supposed to do and I have never had serious problems with it. The 2013 iteration continues to have a few minor annoyances (for example, some optional fields when you are entering deductions etc have length limits, but the software doesn't tell you how long the field must be or even that there is a limit until you go to the next step, when it displays a somewhat less than helpful error message). Also I specifically bought the standard version so I could file jointly with my wife only to discover after installing the program that we had to file separately anyhow because we lived in different provinces (and therefore I might as well have just bought the basic version). But otherwise it provides good value for money, and I would consider getting it again next year.
