Useful
If you are importing a previous Tax return AND you indicate nothing has changed, then you should not have to keep reviewing and entering the same data. Also many of the charitable donations names are longer than the allotted spaces, this results in an error and requires the user to guess at a suitable abbreviation.

Decent
I like the Easy Step process that TurboTax uses. Sometimes I wish it had more details when looking up questions in the help (ie. rent input should be per month or per year? What is a roll?) I also wish it explained why you are getting or not getting money more clearly. Charts have headings that I don't quite understand; it could just leave out the things that don't apply to me if they're all 0's anyway. Why do I have the balance owing and credits that I do? Overall, although the step by step process was easy, I was still confused at the end of it all as to whether I input everything to the best of my ability. Something nobody mentions when you do your own taxes, tuition carries forward. I hadn't claimed it for a year and had no idea I could. There are so many other tips in this program, that could be one for students that are confused. I hope to see a couple improvements next year. It's all in the details, ladies and gents.

Best Can Software Available
I have been a user since day one, and other than a short blip a couple of years ago when Intuit incorrectly reduced available returns(and they admitted and fixed their mistake), I see TurboTax as best value in the Canadian tax software industry. I did need a reinstall this year, though, as my first install became corrupted and unusable.....first time that ever happened to me.....

Missing
I missed the easy switch from one spouse to the other that I found on previous versions. Also, it would be helpful to have a "back" button when one has moved from "review" to a previous page.

Can be unwieldy
It is cumbersome when you have to go back to change something, you have to go through the whole section of easy step, rather than just the one thing you want to change.

I pre-ordered TurboTax when I was using an HP Windows lap-top and when it came I had an Apple MacBook. I was disappointed to learn that my software did not work on my new computer. I used both versions and got slightly different results. I did not like the on-line version for Apple. It is not as versatile as the Windows version. E.G. I could not switch to the forms method. I used my old computer this year because I had already paid for it. Hopefully there will be better software for Apple next year.
One final comment: Under marital status, married & common law should not be lumped together.

Display $ sign instead of digits
When we went thru the detailed tax summary, the amount of the last line 'Balance Due(Refund)' showed the first digit as '$'.
I believe I saw some digits got replaced by the '$' sign somewhere else in other forms.

Netfile Issues
The only complaint I have is it was not at all clear that getting the confirmation number meant that the process was finished. I closed and re-opened the file twice until I saw a question from someone else and the answer to that question told me the return had been filed. It was quite frustrating going through that process.

Good Product

Perfect for those that don't like forms!

Having used TurboTax for several years I feel that this is an easy program to use. The easy step method works extremely well. However, I do see the taxprogram on sale often for up to $10 less in some stores. I would like to see a loyalty discount for returning on-line customers.

Easy
This is my third year using Turbo Tax, I find it a great program and easy to use. If I have questions I usually find the answers in their help section where others have had similar inquiries. With 2 kids in University our returns are a little more complex.
So far so good.... I ll buy it again next year!
