Advertising
Quick Tax is an excellent tax filing software.
However, having paid for the product, there should be NO advertising within the product.
APPS that I buy for my cell phone or tablet removes the advertising.

Have been using this program for many years (more than 5) and always have found it to be very helpful. I am always impressed by the up-grades each year to make the program even more efficient and user friendly. I have always felt that by using this program I have been able to keep my tax to the minimum.

Not bad
Works well for me. I am successfully able to netfile my tax return with a minimum amount of pain. On the other hand, it is a bit awkward to navigate back and forth between different parts of the return in the so-called 'Easy Step Interview Navigator". It would also be nice if the software would not ask you if you would like to apply for tax credits which you are obviously not eligible or based on your income level. If it just told you "don't bother, you aren't eligible" it would save time.

Troubling Aspects
TurboTax doesn't respond to a scroll mouse. That's a nuisance!
When I do medical receipts, if I want TT to total my individual receipts to cross-check the totals I got, I have to enter my name, type of service, etc. each time. There should be a way to either cut and paste, or quick fill or something other than long hand typing.
Even though I used maximizers for charitable and medical expenses, the program kept making the feature available, with me having to answer several times that I'd already done that. That's annoying.
I couldn't remember what categories I'd used the previous year to record my personal business, so it would be nice if it prefilled based on last year's and let me supply the numbers.
INCIDENTALLY, I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AT THE EASE WITH WHICH TO NETFILE. I DISCOVERED THAT AFTER I'D STARTED THIS SURVEY AND HAD ALREADY ANSWERED THAT I HAD NO WARM FUZZY FEELING AT ALL.

Better than before
Not simple, but better than before. Although my tax situation is somewhat complex (dual US/Canada citizen), the standard version of TurboTax covers all my needs. Indeed, I never needed to contact the direct tax advice feature this year.
One complaint: US/Canada exchange rate - when requesting the rate to be used, it should be specified which way the number applies, US$ to Canadian $ or vice versa.

Straighteforward and Quick

I found TurboTax easy to use, and I'm not a techy person. After all these years of hearing about it, it was easier than I thought it would be. I didn't realize I could file on line and there was not charge! That was a bonus.

Transferring last years file
When the product is downloaded, last years files are there by name. ie Netcher/Netcher's Wife. When that page is closed and the product is reopened, the labelled files are no longer there and you must click on transfer and then go looking for the file.

Good package, but needs some help
This is a very good package, but not as easy to use as they tell you.
You have to go back and add things regularily. Using the step by step method, even though they walk you through everything that they think is important, you have to search for some of the entry screens that are left out in the initial steps.
When doing two returns at a time, yours and you wifes, the section for optimizing is not at all user friendly. It is very difficult to get an acurate picture of what is happening to both returns at the same time. A siimple two column comparison that is readily available as you go through the process would be helpful.
The process for splitting deductions is not user friendly either. You never really know where you are at until the end and then it is difficult to go back and change things. I never did figure out what our final carry over for donations was.

Capital losses data Fed. & Quebec
It would be helpfull to have the claimed capital losses from the previous years, enterred in the Federal return, done automatically by the software, in the Quebec return too.

Review
Your charitable donation optimizer seems to suggest that the husband or spouse claim the donation. I would prefer that the choice be accepted by the program as selected by the taxpayer. It is annoying to go through the review and then have to again re-enter the charitable donation on the wife's return. The program should optimize the charitable donation for the highest income earner, rather than the husband/male member.

Streamlined
I like the new program with one exception. When you arrive at the review portion you are locked into that area with turbo tax trying to upsell services. You can't bypass to perform the review as in previous years. Poor set-up.

Easy to Follow
It really is easy to follow - step by step - read and click - nothing more simplier than that. If you have a question or want to use a form instead, they are all there at your fingertips. This is the only format I use to do my taxes - never a problem.

Good Progam
Use of the program was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was all the products that they are throwing at you all through the process. They should put them all on one page with the option to click on one or more if you are interested in them or if your not you can just skip by them.

A Challenge but ok
I have used Turbo Tax since it's started and before that I used Quick Tax. It Has been a challenge at times but works out in the end. This year I filled out the tax form and the summary doubled our income. I deleted that form and started again, this time things went smooth and I filed. I wish you could get a hold of someone at Turbo when things go wrong but you can't unless you pay for it. There is the forum for help but I found it useless. I'll probably use it again next year if I am still on Earth. I am 83 if I can do it anyone can.
