15 years +
I used (then) QuickTax for several years, then turned over the job to an accountant, but continued using QT on my own to keep a handle on the accounts. One year QT found mistakes in the accountant's work. Now I'm back to doing it on my own with TT.

Improvement on last year
This program almost lost my business last year as it messed up calculations I am sure I could have got back more but Was too frustrated to try.
This year has been better, and the tips are easier to get you through.
I am glad I used it this year as it seemed to have less glitches.

Easy to use
Very simple to use, even for someone with dependents, school tuition, UIC and pensions. Yearly user makes importing last years info very easy too.

my error
I would like to be able to do a simultaneous return by having my wife's return open at the same time. I would like to be able tocheck her numbers required for my return and vice versa.

Minor Issues
The review told me to use the charitible donation optimizer but did not provide a link to it directly. I had to search through the menus to find it. After running the optimizer and closing it I found my forms were not changed to reflect the changes of the optimizer. So I had to change them manually.

Turbo produced a schedule 6 , which was not required . I was unable to determine how to eliminate the answers produced that showed on the schedule .

Solid program
The standard version includes everything that I, mostly average uses, require and Easystep makes it fast. As well, the Form availability ensures a greater depth of control to ensure all is correct.

Pretty Good
I like everything about this, but rated 4/5 starts because when you use the NETFILE service, and it gives you a confirmation number, there is no where to print that page for your records, or save it.

Please make your fonts bigger
Hi please consider making your fonts bigger for our aged eyes. It is very difficult to read the text on screen while doing data entry or review. pls make use of the empty space to enlarge the fonts.

Great but:
I found Turbo Tax to be of great value. It allows entry of data in a quick and efficient manner. Net filing was easier than ever.
One area of confusion was dealing with some of the warnings. I was not sure if they applied to me or not. When looking into them certain numbers were presented which did not always make sense.

Some of the areas were hard to find, such as the Elected split-pension amount. It took me quite awhile to play around with the program before I found it. Saving the files is a bit obscure too.

Good but still seems to repeat the questions
The software is easy to use but it still seems repeat the questions even though its been answered. In particular, during the review step, it tells you about the Children's fitness amount, but this has already been completed... There are other tips when it comes to the review step that seems irrelevant or has already been addressed while going through easy step.

Changes Questionable
Well done on improving the net filing process Couldn't be easier or more efficient.

A real way to lessen tax pain.
A very detailed tax program. The only caveat that I would warn anyone on is if you have benefits program on your T4, don't enter it in under medical expenses, it's already there. Very easy to miss.

Used it agin
I have been using TurboTax for several years now. On the TAX side, very easy to use (step through) and the tax saving and reviews are great. On the down side, the live assist seems to slow down the program a lot and there are more attempts at "UP SELLING" other services then I have seen in the past.
There should be a method to disable the upsells and the live assist to speed up the program.

filing for deceased
If filing for deceased person, it would be nice if all the prompts then changed to "person filing for Bernice" rather than continue to refer to me as Bernice, when I have indicated that she is deceased. Also, it told me to print and send the forms, but I didn't see an address to send them to. That would have been helpful.

Used it for years
Taxes are complicated. Turbo Tax does a good job of all the calculations and coordinating stuff between two spouses. Still, you have to know a little about some of the more complicated bits, such as investment stuff - it can remind you about some things but not all. I have used it for years (after having done my own by hand before that) and I have never had any problem with the tax man.

More Complicated the Year
Nothing changed between 2013 and 2013 for what I need to file, but I found it less easy to use this year. Warnings that did not apply, then a warning just before filing on interest expenses that was a red herring. Also, just before filing it quoted a $figure and asked where it came from e.g.: Canadian Bank or T3 or... Why is it asking me this and why did the TT program know where the numbers came from?
Overall I like turbo tax and will continue to use it. But this year seem to take twice as long for the same tax return.

QuickTax
I have been a user of TurboTax for many years, hence the title QuickTax(it's former name). Overall it is easy to use and navigate. The one suggestion for improvement would be "Clarification" of some of the terms. (E.g. - when stating quarterly tax installment payments amount, a better statement would be total tax installments paid for the tax year.) Easy-step can be vague at times when listing possible deductions. There are a couple others that can be confusing, especially for new users. Perhaps another suggestion would be to show a summary of upcoming entries as per the easy-step questions asked. As easy-step will ask if there are any other deductions, which you may have not yet entered in the present section cause you do not know it is coming up later?
