Great software - RRSP could be a bit enhanced
Overall, everything is great...one issue is with the RRSP contribution section...I have contributions during the first 60 days of the year that I do not want to use as a deduction for the prior tax year...however, there is no real area to put this, other than putting in the amount in the "first 60 days" section, and then going into the Forms section to find the place to put the "carry over"...it would be great to have a section that outlines "contributions from Mar-Dec of tax year - ie. 2013", "contributions from first 60 days of next year ie. 2014 to be used for 2013 tax year", and another box saying "first 60 days of year ie. 2014 to be carried forward into next tax year ie. 2014" - then the software could put this "carry forward" amount in the right area in the actual form...

Very Helpful
I have been doing my taxes all my life. I started using TurboTax five years ago and it has made the whole process so much easier, particularly tying in four adults (two students) in one family. The new Netfile facility is wonderful.

Good but too many ads
When I buy a product I find it annoying to receive ads so I was annoyed with every click of the mouse. That being said the software is easy to use and works well.

Apple Version
I have been using Quick Tax and Turbo Tax for at least 14 years to submit my Canada Revenue Agency annual income tax return. I will be retiring my current personal computer due to unsupport Microsoft Windows XP next month - April 2014. I have been loyal to your software product for many years. However, the only computer that will be in my home or that I have access to is an Apple IMAC that I have owned for a few years. I am disappointed that you currently do not offer Turbo Tax software for filling Canada Renvenue Agency returns on a Apple IMAC platform, except an on line version. I prefer to have the software loaded on and only available on my personal device.
I do notice that a Turbo Tax version is available for USA tax fillings and would like to see tha same for Canada.
I would like to continue as a Turbo Tax customer for many years to come.

. please don't spring extra quesetions on me while filing (example : breakdown of investment income)

some glitchs
Over all it was simple to use. However the netfile program did not work initially. It worked later after I downloaded new upgrades.
My Complaint was that there was no phone number that I could talk to someone when the problem occurred.
Even the help section only gave me what other people had problems with but no answers.
Otherwise I like the program and have use it for several years.

Good but...
Saves time with quick adjustments for changes. Handy optimizers save countless hours of recalculating on joint filings.
Used for first time last year and was amazed at how quickly my refund came.
Issues I had and need to make note of next year.
Save Save Save info regularly. I lost everything in the review step and had to start again.
I lost it all when I clicked on the place to find out why shared pension income could affect other things. A pop up window said I hadn't enough memory and when I closed the window the whole Turbo Tax program closed and I had to start again. Ugh.
It would be nice to have an online manual on how to operate and navigate everything. Moving around to other places may be simple but not for the novice and when this is used just once a year we all start out unfamiliar with things.
When I put down the total for joint interest earning and used the 50% category we both wound up with the full amount showing. Luckily I caught that and just split it myself.
Despite these glitches I will continue using Turbo Tax and overall find it very useful.

Very Useful
Use to take my taxes to a professional, and every year the cost to do my taxes increased. Finally the cost got to the point that I decided to do my own, and Turbo tax was relatively easy to use, I had very few questions in which the help menu helped a lot. This product was worth the price.

okay on xp
I never did get this product to work on my lap top running Windows 7. I ended up using my old desk top running xp to get the job done. I tried the help menu and texted with a Technician with no avail. I gave up and used the old machine

Great Tax Program, but ha been better
I've used Turbo Tax for years (and before that Quick Tax). I've always been impressed by the simplicity and ease of use for filing my taxes. For Turbo Tax 2013 I'd say my experience has been 90% the same (positive). However, this year I found the quickstep process a little clunky and confusing. There were times I went to my forms and when I returned to quickstep I didn't return to where I'd left it. I was also confused by several times that I could possibly apply for this or that, but was only given links to read about it and not a clear process to help me do it. I must say that I was disappointed this year. Maybe the taxation process has become so complicated that no one can sort through it. But, that was my experience.
